Android 5.0 Lollipop is now available for Motorola's 2nd Gen Moto G in the UK. To download the over-the-air update, check your Moto G's settings menu, tap 'About Phone' and then 'System Updates'. The update should then start downloading, but you'll need at least 850MB of free storage and 25% of remaining battery time to install it.
The 2nd Gen Moto G is the first Motorola handset to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop in the UK, but hopefully it won't be too long before we see it appear on the rest of the Motorola's handsets. The company announced last October that everything from the Moto E right up to the latest 2nd Gen Moto X would be receiving a free OTA update to Google's latest operating system, including the 1st Gen Moto G and 1st Gen Moto X. We still don't have a date for these phones yet, but Motorola has been advising Moto owners to keep checking its upgrade support page for all the latest details.
As the Moto G already uses pure Android, the home screen's overall apperance has changed very little. However, Google's Material Design is now present throughout, allowing you to see notifications on the lock screen, switch apps using the new Overview screen and take advantage of the latest versions of Gmail and Calendar.
