The specification of the 2015 revamp of the Xbox One hardware has been confirmed, after a page detailing the new console was accidentally published on Amazon. The 2015 spec, which was hastily removed from the retailer's site, confirms many of the rumours that have emerged about the console in recent weeks.

The new Xbox One will come with 1TB of storage, providing plenty of space for games downloads, videos and other media. Rumours have suggested that Microsoft will be boosting the PVR capabilities of the console, which will also benefit from that extra storage space. The current Xbox One has a 500GB hard disk.

The Amazon listing also confirmed the addition of a regular 3.5mm headphone jack to the Xbox One controller, a change that Microsoft leaked on its own site a couple of weeks ago. That will allow gamers to plug in their own headphones, instead of having to buy headsets that use Microsoft's proprietary connector or buy a special adapter to use their own cans.

The console, will according to Amazon, be made available on 15 June - the day Microsoft is due to give its press conference at the E3 games conference in Los Angeles. Amazon priced the console at $400, which is around £260 on a straight dollar-to-pound conversion, but will probably mean a retail price of £299 in the UK. That price excludes the Kinect controller, which seems to be in terminal decline now that it's not a compulsory part of the console.

The launch of the 2015 spec could see retailers attempting to clear their stock of the existing hardware, so if you're not bothered about being a generation behind the curve, now could be the time to unleash the credit card.
