If you're anything like us in the Expert Reviews office, you might have found that you've been unable to sign into Skype this morning or that you're stuck appearing offline. Well, the good news is that you're not alone. I say good news, it's probably bad news but at least there's not a problem on your end. Skype's @SkypeSupport Twitter account confirmed the outages:
We are aware of an issue affecting Skype status at the moment, and are working on a quick fix: http://t.co/ymSzmrgEX0pic.twitter.com/8LoqqL0hh7
— Skype Support (@SkypeSupport) September 21, 2015
Skype says that affected users will not be able to change their status, and that contacts may appear as offline, continuing "We're working on a fix for this issue and hope to have an update for you soon. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused while we get this resolved."
At time of writing the desktop client does appear to still be down as is the web-based client, which is possibly good news for all employers as productivity increases (also why I've found time to write this). If you're really bored you can sit there and watch the spinning sign in animation over and over again until things go back online.
