If you get a budget tablet for Christmas this year don't be surprised. As of tonight Amazon has slashed the price on its already laughably cheap Kindle Fire tablet yet further. Launched recently for just £50 the tablet stood up fairly well in our full Kindle Fire review, but amazingly this weekend Amazon is selling it for just £35.
That's a ridiculously low price for what is a perfectly usable device, from a highly-respeccted retailer and manufacturer. It's still wouldn't be our first choice for a reasonably-priced tablet for ourselves, that's currently the £200 Nexus 9 (though you could almost buy 6 Kindles for that money!), but it's a great present for someone who's never owned a tablet or a child who keeps on borrowing yours - be warned even small children know when they're being fobbed off with something not as good as your iPad Air.
There are other attractive deals too. The Amazon Fire TV Stick is reduced by £10 from £35 to just £25. we really liked it when we reviewed it earlier in the year, see our full Amazon Fire TV Stick review, as it incorprorates all the TV catchup services you want in a simple stick with a decent remote control.
Ongoing deals also include £30 off the excellent Kindle Paperwhite, bringing the price down to just £80. It's our favourite eReader at present, since the screen was upgraded this year to a pin-sharp 300ppi, you can read our full Kindle Paperwhite review now or compare all the Kindle models to see if it's the right one for you.
That's the best of Amazon's offers on its own tech, for further Black Friday deals, see our Black Friday deals page now.
