Although Apple kit is generally at a premium when it comes out, now the phone is coming up for a year old and is about to be replaced by a newer handset, you can get some pretty good deals. In fact, if you sign up for a two year contract you can get some pretty amazing deals from the big networks.
You might be wondering why you should buy a handset that is about to be replaced, but the the iPhone 5S has withstood the test of time. Its dual-core 1.3Ghz Apple A7 processor zips along with iOS 7 (with iOS 8 just around the corner), while the 1,136x640 screen still looks great. Then there's the excellent 8MP camera, 4G support and sleek, polished design. iPhone 5S deals on EE
It might cost a fair bit, but the best deal on EE is the iPhone 5S 16GB for £43.99 per month on a two year plan. For that you get 4GB of data and unlimited calls and texts. There's a £9.99 upfront cost for the handset. The plan also comes with EE Extra, the network's name for access to double speed 4G and inclusive EU minutes and texts when roaming. You also get free calls to 080 numbers.
If you're feeling a little cash-strapped then there's cheaper deals to be had. For £35.99 a month through Phones 4u on a two year contract you can get a 16GB iPhone 5S in any colour with 2GB of data with unlimited minutes and texts. There's also no upfront cost.
iPhone 5S deals on T-Mobile and Orange
Most of T-Mobile contracts come with a hefty upfront cost, but it has a couple of good deals. The best is available through Phones 4u and gets you a 16GB iPhone 5S for £39.99 per month on a two year contract with 500 minutes and unlimited texts and data. The same package, but with 2000 minutes instead of 500, costs £44.99 per month.
Good deals on Orange are hard to come by. The best we could find was for unlimited minutes and texts, 2GB of data for £29 upfront and a monthly cost of £44.99 on a two year contract. Outside of that upfront costs start getting silly. The worst deal? A staggering £399.99 upfront cost and £23.99 per month on a two year contract for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and a miserly 250MB of data.
iPhone 5S deals on O2
The best deals on O2 aren't found through its website. On Carphone Warehouse you can get a 16GB iPhone 5S with unlimited minutes and texts and 1GB of data with no upfront cost for £33 per month on a two year contract. If you need more data then there's another good deal for unlimited calls and texts, 5GB of data for £38 per month with an upfront cost of £99.99. Both deals are for 4G data where available.
iPhone 5S deals on Three
On Three you can get a 16GB iPhone 5S with 2GB of data, 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £33 per month on a two year contract when you pay £29 upfront. Three is also the only network to offer truly unlimited data - and it won't break the bank. For £38 per month you can have unlimited data and texts, 600 minutes for an upfront cost of £9 on a two year contract.
Need unlimited everything? For £41 per month on a two year contract with no upfront cost you can have it. That's a 16GB iPHone 5S with unlmited, calls, texts and data for £41 per month - making this one of the best iPhone 5S deals around.
iPhone 5S deals on Vodafone
The best deal on Vodafone is through Carphone Warehouse. You can get unlimited calls and texts and 4GB of data for £35.50 per month no a two year contract. If you need more data then the same deal but with 7GB will cost £40.50 per month on a two year contract with an upfront cost of £49.99. Or, if you want to bring down the monthly cost you can get the same 7GB deal and pay £129.99 upfront and then £36.50 per month.
iPhone 5S SIM-only deals
There's not really any way to get a brand new SIM-only handset for less than than you can get it the iPhone 5S on the Apple Store. SO that's £549 for the 16GB version, £629 for 32GB and £709 for 64GB. A few sellers on Amazon have it for a little less, but many of them are second hand, even if the sellers claim they are 'as new'.
