Chromebooks are a great alternative to laptops running Windows or OS X, and are typically much cheaper too. We’re a great fan of Chromebooks here at Expert Reviews and they’ve gained significant popularity over recent years.
It’s usually pretty easy to find a cheap Chromebook, especially considering that most retail for around £200, but you might need a little bit of help separating the good from the bad. That’s where we come in: we’ve scoured the cheapest and best Chromebook devices on offer this month.
If you're not too fussed about price, read our regularly updated roundup of the best Chromebooks money can buy. Likewise, if you're after something Windows-based, check out our rundown of the best laptop deals this month.
1. Asus Chromebook C100PA
Deal price: £200
Starting the list off we’ve got the Asus C100PA, an intriguing 2-in-1 Chromebook. Its sheer cheap versatility grants it a place on our list, with a hinged 10.1in touchscreen, 4GB of RAM and a relatively decent 1.8GHz processor too. For a penny under £200, it’s a steal and should serve you well.
2. Asus Chromebook C201PA
Deal price: £168
If you’re not a fan of the hinged touchscreen and are willing to spend a little less, Asus’ C201PA model is a great choice. With pretty much exactly the same specs as the other model, you should get a bit of a longer battery life and it has a very generously sized touchpad too.
3. Dell Chromebook 7310
Deal price: £400
The most expensive Chromebook on this list, the Dell 7310 sits on the slightly more premium end of the spectrum, with its fully fledged 1.5GHz Intel Celeron processor. You’re getting the best performance on a Chromebook here, which are typically lagging behind their Windows counterparts. It has a Full HD screen, too, so you should be able to use Netflix to its full potential.
4. Lenovo N22
Deal price: £124
On the other end of the spectrum, the Lenovo N22 is the cheapest Chromebook on this list. For just under £125, you get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, yet the Intel Celeron N3060 processor is surprisingly speedy too, clocked at 2.48GHz. You should be able to last much longer away from the wall socket here, with its 14 hours' battery life.
5. Acer Chromebook CB5-111
Deal price: £150
Just a little bit more expensive is Acer’s answer to the Chromebook phenomenon, the CB5-111. With very similar specs to the Lenovo N22 – albeit with a slightly slower processor – it’s also incredibly portable, weighing just 1.2Kg. This device is definitely best served for the frequent commuter wanting to top up their workload to and from work.
