Best August 2016 TV deals

JVC LT-42C550

Sale price: £200

JVC LT-42C550

It’s not the flashiest on this list, but a 42in Full HD TV for a penny under £200 shouldn’t really be missed. There’s built-in Freeview and three HDMI ports for connecting multiple devices at once to it. Picture quality might not be the best on this list, but for a second TV in the home (or even as a main TV if you aren’t too fussed) I'd say take the leap.

Samsung UE55KU6670

Sale price: £900

Samsung UE55KU6670

Remember when curved 4K TV’s used to be incredibly expensive? Well, 2016 is shaping up to be the year that these TV’s become much more affordable, and this is one example. A 55in curved 4K HDR TV for £900 is a steal, especially considering it’s also Smart too. If it’s a little too big or you’re wanting to save a bit of cash, the 49in model is £200 cheaper.

LG 55UH625V

Sale price: £700

LG 55UH625V

£200 cheaper than the TV above, the 55UH625V is a wonderfully priced 4K TV, especially if you don’t mind it not being curved. If you’re perfectly happy sticking with a flat screen TV or you’ve got a room that doesn’t suit a curved TV, this is a great choice. It’s the same case here too, if you’re after something a bit smaller, the 49in model will save you £200.

Philips 6500 Series

Sale price: £650

While it’s not the most impressive TV out of the box, we loved the Philips 6500 Series when we first reviewed it last October. Now that it’s £150 cheaper, it comes highly recommended. A big draw is that you get Android TV, which has a good selection of apps for catching up on TV and streaming Netflix, and the user interface is smooth and easy to use.

Panasonic Viera TX-58DX902B

Sale price: £2,000

Panasonic Viera TX-58DX902B The Martian

The company’s flagship TV for 2016, it’s really not the cheapest on the list. However, if you take into account the fact that it first retailed for £2,800 you’re making a great saving if you want the biggest and the best. The Viera TX-58DX8902B isn't a particularly slim TV, but its added thickness does mean its speakers aren't the thin and disappointing affair often seen with flatscreen TVs. This is the best TV we’ve reviewed so far this year.
