The Nokia 3310 was released in 2000, and has since garnered cult status as the phone that refuses to be broken. Trusty, reliable, and incredibly resilient, the Nokia 3310 was – and continues to be – a much-loved mobile phone.
Hence why Nokia, which operates under the umbrella of Finnish company HMD Global, has decided to reintroduce an updated version of the Nokia 3310. The 3310 launch is expected during Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, which commences on 27 February.
Nokia will also be bringing out several other budget handsets at MWC 2017, including the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6, with the latter retailing at the highest price point.
News of the Nokia 3310 relaunch was revealed by well-established leaker Evan Blass, reporting in VentureBeat.
Oh, and for those who can’t wait to rekindle their love affair with the Nokia 3310, the original handset is available on Amazon via resellers.
Nokia 3310: Release date and price
As we mentioned, Nokia is expected to launch its revamped Nokia 3310 handset at an event before MWC 2017 (27 February – 2 March), with an expected release date of 26 February. Price-wise, it’s likely to cost in the region of €59 (£47) in Europe. It’s still unclear whether it will launch elsewhere.

Nokia 3310: Design
Blass describes the handset as an “homage” to the original Nokia 3310, suggesting that it won’t be an exact replica of the clunky 2000 version. He has specified that the handset will not be a smartphone, but rather “a modern version of a classic workhorse of a feature phone, the Nokia 3310”.
Otherwise, the design of the relaunched Nokia 3310 is shrouded in mystery; given the original handset’s simplicity, we still don’t know if the new model will feature a colour screen, a camera, or apps.
We will update this page as and when we learn more about the new Nokia 3310.
