For all of us no lucky enough to get invited to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6L launch event in San Francisco on the 9th September, there's some good news at last: there's an official Apple live stream. This is the first time that the company has done this for an iPhone launch, previously only live streaming the keynote from WWDC.
Currently just displaying a countdown clock, the site teases, "Live video from our special event will be right here. And so will a whole lot more."
You can tune into the event at 10am PDT, which works out at 6pm for all of us here in the UK. As usual, Apple only supports its own hardware and software, which means you need an iPhone, iPad or Mac running Safari, or an Apple TV in order to get the feed; if you've got a PC, Android Phone or other device, it's tough luck.
As well as both of the phones, we're expecting the company to officially announce the final version of iOS 8, which will be made available to existing hardware shortly afterwards. Given that one of the most exciting features of iOS 8 is its tight integration with OS X 10.10 Yosemite, we also think that Apple may launch its desktop operating system.
There's also a possibility that the iWatch will be announced. This is a hard one to work out, though, as there have been so few leaks surrounding this smartwatch that we're not sure it's going to come out. Still, there's still a chance that we'll get a sneak peak at it, even if it's not going to go on sale.
There's even a feeling that Apple could pull a complete surprise out of the bag, as its invite to the event didn't include a single hint as to what was being launched and cryptically suggested that there was a lot to cover. It certainly feels like the most exciting Apple launch in a long time. We'll be here to cover everything live as it happens.
