iPhone 6 live stream

Don't miss any of the action with our guide on how to watch the iPhone 6 launch event online and on your Apple TV

The iPhone 6 will finally be announced in less than an hour, with the event starting at 6pm UK time, that's 10am on the west coast of America. As welll as the iPhone 6, another larger phone might also be on the cards along with the much-rumoured iWatch. We'll be liveblogging the event throughout, both on Twitter and here.

This year you can watch the event too, as for the first time an iPhone launch event will be streamed online; though strangely Apple only seems to want to show the faithful its new products, as you'll need an Apple device to watch the stream.

If you'd like to see what's going on, you have two options. First, you can head over to www.apple.com/live/ and watch in your browser. Only Apple users can view the video stream, which means people with Macs, iPad and iPhones; PC and Android users, it's tough luck we're afraid. Even Apple owners face some restrictions: Mac users must be running OS X 10.6.8 or later with Safari 5.1.10 or later; iOS users must be running iOS 6 or later.

The second way to watch is through Apple TV. From the main menu select Apple Events and off you go, provided you have an Apple TV 2 or 3 and are running software version 6.2 or later.

If you don't have the necessary kit to watch, we'll be bringing you the latest information via our Twitter feed @expertreviewsuk. We'll also be bringing all the information as it breaks straight to the site, so don't forget to take a trip to the homepage to keep up-to-date with the latest information. If you're reading this before the event kicks of, our iPhone 6 rumours article will give you a good idea of what to expect on the night.

In addition to the iPhone models, we're also expecting Apple to release a bunch of other new products, as it appears to have a lot to show us. These include iOS 8, which the iPhone 6 will need to make the most of its new features. This OS will also be available to older iPhone and iPad users (see how to prepare you iPad or iPhone for iOS 8). Apple is also said to be ready to show off its iWatch smartwatch, too. It may not launch until next year, but this may be our first chance to see it in the flesh. Finally, with iOS 8 tightly integrating with Apple's desktop OS, we may find out when OS X 10.10 Yosemite will be released.
