Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi (yeah, who?) isn’t so well known in the UK and US, but judging by the growing hype surrounding its upcoming smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, that will soon change.
In China it’s a different story, however: the company is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the country’s history, as has been referred to as “the Apple of China” in many instances.

Those who are already in the know when it comes to Xiaomi will be aware that the company makes exceptional phones at absurdly low prices, and its last handset, the Xiaomi Mi Mix, was the first to pack in a stunning edgeless display, way before other major smartphone manufacturers were doing it.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 release date and price
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is set to launch just before Apple’s iPhone 8, which, it was recently confirmed, will be released on 12 September. Out sooner, and no doubt for a fraction of the price, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 looks like a very viable option if you’re in the market for a new smartphone.While Xiaomi doesn’t currently retail its products in the UK or US, rumours have circulated that the brand will launch on British soil come 2018, with any luck. There are no firm details on price just yet, but expect it to be cheap, especially compared to that of the iPhone 8, which is rumoured to cost up to $1,000 (~£770). Yikes.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 design, features and specs
The original Xiaomi Mi Mix sported a bezel-less edge-to-edge display like we’ve seen on the LG G6 and more recent V30. As a pioneer in design, we're expecting the Mi Mix 2 to follow in its older sibling’s stylish footsteps.
The rumour mill has been churning out some insight into what we might or might not see in terms of specs regarding the Mi Mix 2. Recent reports have surfaced suggesting the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will sport an enormous 6.4in display, in addition to an up-to-date Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM and a 4,500mAh battery. According to reports, there will also be two options for built-in storage of either 128GB and 256GB and a pixel density of 2,960 x 1,440.
While these specs haven’t yet been confirmed, going by the original Xiaomi Mi Mix’s already premium specs, we’d guess these leaks are about right. We will be updating this page as and when more information becomes available on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, so keep checking back.
