Let’s be honest – very few people relish the task of doing the vacuuming. So anything that makes the job quicker and easier gets serious plus points in our book.

Black Friday is a great time to pick up some deals on the very best too, with prices slashed across top brands like Dyson, Vax, Hoover and Shark. We’ve even found a good deal on a robot vac from iRobot, meaning you might not ever have to vacuum again.

If you're a bit overwhelmed by the different models, check out our buying guide for all the key features and technologies you need to be looking out for, and read on for the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals we’ve seen.

Best vacuum cleaner deals this Black Friday

1. Miele C3 Boost Ecoline

Miele is still the go-to brand when it comes to bagged cylinder devices and for good reason based on our testing. The Complete C3 has an excellent design with all the tools you need in a compact package. Its 800w motor and numerous power settings make it ideal for all kinds of tasks and you can handily control power from the handle.

It’s pretty quiet too, and though it’s not the best choice for deep pile carpets, it’ll tackle just about anything else you throw at it.

2. Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Handheld and battery-powered vacuum cleaners used to be something of a joke, good for little other than small spills. Or at least they did until Dyson's V6 Absolute came along.

It's since been superseded by the V8 (see further down this list), but the V6's digital motor still has the suction power of a mains-powered vacuum, and has enough battery life to get around a small house or sizeable flat.

The interchangeable heads mean it's ideally suited to hard floors and carpets, but its compact size and lightweight means you shouldn’t have a problem getting it around the place. With £170 lopped off the price we reviewed it at, there’s never been a better excuse to go cordless.

3. Shark Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner with TruePet

Shark Lift-Away vacuums are clever in that the main unit can be detached from the wand, turning your upright vacuum into a versatile portable that’s great for taking on trickier areas, like stairs.

It comes with lots of tools for tackling other parts of the home, and with its Pet Power attachment, this model is great for clearing up stubborn pet hair too.

It’s certified by the British Allergy Foundation thanks to Shark’s Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology, which means it captures and holds over 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum.

All-in-all a really handy multipurpose vacuum that’s now £140 less than its RRP. Bargain.

4. Dyson V8 Absolute

First thing's first, the V8 Absolute is pretty darn expensive – even with a Black Friday discount. Still if you’re in the market for the best cordless vacuum out there, this is undoubtedly it, and you can at least sweeten the deal by saving a bit of money off the RRP.

Offering refinements on the V6 in key areas including battery life and usability, the V8 is a hugely competent cleaner, with powerful suction that can’t be beaten.

Battery life is double the V6 at 40 minutes – so most houses can be done on one charge – and the bin size has been increased accordingly to boot.

Noise has also been drastically reduced too, plus the new hygienic dirt ejector means less messy hands and an emptier bin at the end of a clean. With £150 off our test price, it makes for a very tempting offer indeed.

5. VAX Blade Ultra TBT3V1P2 Cordless Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

If you haven’t got Dyson money for a vacuum cleaner, this cordless Vax option could well do just as good a job for you, and at a fraction of the price.

Granted, it’s a model we haven’t tested just yet, but coming from Vax, we feel pretty confident that we’re in good hands.

It’s a portable, lightweight design, with a detachable handheld unit for getting up close and personal with mess.

It’s got a 45-minute battery that gives you enough time to scoot around most of the house – plus you can give the car a once over without the need for extension cables too.

There’s even a Boost Mode for additional suction when you need it, and the control dial on the handle allows you to keep an eye on just how much battery is left.

6. iRobot Roomba 651 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

We’ve not tested the Roomba 651 yet, but based on our experiences with others in its range, we’d bet for good things.

An entirely cordless robot vacuum cleaner, you can programme the Roomba 651 to clean up whenever suits, such as when you’re out at work.

Its iAdapt responsive cleaning technology ensures it’ll pick up all of the mess, while its built-in sensors help it to manoeuvre around furniture. It even has a self-adjusting cleaning head that will adapt to different flooring automatically.

It’s not the cheapest way to get the cleaning done, but it gets you off the hook, which is worth its weight in gold. Even better, it is now £100 cheaper with this deal.

7. Hoover Hurricane VR81HU03 Upright Vacuum Cleaner

If you’re looking to spend as little as possible on your vacuum, a trendy cordless model is probably out of the window. But this model from Hoover offers you a bagless upright cleaner that’s plenty easy to use, and promises great results across hard floors and carpets.

Its spec sheet is certainly promising, with a powerful 850w motor and a generous 3-litre dust capacity, meaning it should chomp through a few spring cleans before it needs emptying.

It’s also great for pet owners, thanks to its pet hair-tackling Turbo Tool, while its washable EPA filter helps to make sure that airborne allergens are kept safely locked away.
