If you’ve never played From Software’s Bloodborne, you’re in for a treat with this month’s PS Plus haul. Sony is bringing the gothic RPG to PlayStation Plus for March, along with the excellent platformer Ratchet & Clank.
Bloodborne is one of the most critically adored games in recent years, and with very good reason. The gothic RPG is a masterclass in game design, weaving its obtuse, Lovecraftian story across the nightmarish beauty of Yharnam. It’s created by the same minds behind Dark Souls, so you can expect a similarly challenging but deeply rewarding experience. If you’ve never touched a From Software game before, this is arguably the best one to get started on.
The other headline for March 2018 is Ratchet & Clank; an altogether brighter and cheerier experience than Bloodborne, but one that also comes with heaps of praise from critics. A ground-up remake of the classic PS2 platformer, Ratchet & Clank offers up a memorable world and genuinely funny writing. Plus plenty of ridiculous weapons.
The full list of PS Plus games for March 2018 is:
- Bloodborne (PS4)
- Ratchet and Clank (PS4)
- Legend of Kay Anniversary (PS3)
- Mighty No. 9 (PS3 and PS4)
- Claire: Extended Cut (PS Vita and PS4)
- Bombing Busters (PS Vita and PS4)
These will land on 6 March, meaning you have a few more days to grab the lineup for February:
- Knack (PS4)
- RiME (PS4)
- StarBlood Arena (PS Plus bonus – PS VR required)
- Spelunker HD (PS3)
- Mugen Souls Z (PS3)
- Exiles End (PS Vita)
- Grand Kingdom (PS Vita & PS4)
Sony’s blog on March’s lineup notes that, as of 8 March 2019, the monthly haul will no longer include titles for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita:
“This won’t affect any games you’ve already downloaded, or will download, prior to 8 March 2019. Those games will still be part of your PS Plus games library as long as you remain a member.
“Your game saves and other benefits of PS Plus will also remain the same – the only change is that no new PS3 and PS Vita games will be added to the PS Plus monthly games lineup beyond 8 March 2019.”
