Just in case the mayhem of Black Friday and the January sales weren't enough, another day has now firmly established itself in the shopping calendar, this time in the summer months: Amazon Prime Day. For one day, Amazon rolls out a gargantuan selection of deals and discounts for home shoppers everywhere. Of course, the whole day is intended primarily to get people to sign up to the Prime scheme – but there are always some fantastic offers to be scooped up. Last year's Prime Day saw reductions on TVs, lawnmowers, vacuum cleaners and laptops that were just as eye-wateringly good as ones you would find on Black Friday or in the January sales.
Now back for its fourth year, 2018's Amazon Prime Day will fall on Tuesday 17 July. But this year, Amazon has extended the shopping window, so that sales actually kick off at noon on Monday 16 July, and finish at 11.59pm the following day. That gives you a full 36 hours of bargain-hunting. Of course, you'll actually need to sign up to Amazon Prime if you haven't already. It comes with all sorts of perks, including faster-than-usual delivery times and access to the Prime Video library.
And Amazon has a lot of great discounts on laptops – so if you're in the market for a new model, now's your chance to pick up a bargain. Maybe you're preparing to invest in a high-end laptop but are hesitant about spending all your savings. Maybe you're not keen to spend too much at all, and are only looking for a budget-priced Chromebook. Either way, chances are Amazon will have you covered. Take a look through our list of the best laptop deals for Amazon Prime Day 2018.
