Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Samsung Galaxy Note pre-orders will open on Friday 19 September in Samsung stores and Friday 26 September elsewhere

Samsung has announced that its upcoming flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 4, will be launching in the UK on 10 October 2014 and the US on 17 October. Pre-orders will open on Friday 19 September in Samsung Experience Stores across the UK, including its store in Westfield Stratford City. Online and high street retailer pre-orders will then follow on Friday 26 September and will be available from Three and Carphone Warehouse.

The Galaxy Note 4 is Samsung's latest phablet phone and will have a 5.7in 2,560x1,440 Super AMOLED display. It also comes with Samsung's unique S Pen stylus so you can jot down ideas and notes on the move. Oddly Samsung has yet to reveal how much the Galaxy Note 4 will cost, although online retailer Clove is selling it for £575.

"With its premium design and Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy Note 4 is the go-to-device for those looking for a stunning viewing experience,” said Ines van Gennip, Marketing Director of IT & Mobile Division for Samsung UK & Ireland.

"With a number of innovative features to aid multitasking and increase productivity, we’re excited to offer our UK customers a revolutionary way of accessing and engaging with content on their mobile device."

When it does finally launch the Galaxy Note 4 will be going head to head with the hotly-anticipated iPhone 6 Plus. If you're still undecided about which handset you should buy read our iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comparison to see how they shape up.

Samsung also reiterated that the Galaxy Note Edge, its slightly bizarre-looking curved-screen phone, will be released in selected markets with UK availability to be confirmed soon. Earlier this week, retailer Clove had said the Note Edge would not be available in the UK when the phone first launched. Instead, the retailer would be looking to source non-UK stock so customers could still be some of the first to buy Samsung's brand new handset.
