The Linx 7 is the cheapest Windows 8.1 tablet we’ve seen yet. At £80 inc VAT from Ebuyer, it undercuts the previous cheapest Windows model we've seen, the Toshiba Encore 2 WT8-B-102, by a clear £100.
There's more good news for bargain hunters, too. The tablet comes with a 12-month subscription to Office 365 Personal, which is worth £60 on its own, and it's even possible to bump the price down to £50 if you trade in your old tablet. According to the link on the Ebuyer product page, you need to submit your claim within 14 days of buying a Linx tablet, and you will be provided with a freepost box and label to post in your old model.
Any 7in tablet will do, as long as it has "reasonable wear and tear"; this excludes problems such as "cracked/split/damaged or open chassis structure, cracked or non-working display, does not power on".
The Linx 7 has a fair specification. There's a quad-core Intel "Bay Trail" processor, which is up to date, as well as a fair 32GB of internal storage. The tablet also has a 1,280x800-pixel screen, which is standard for a cheap Windows model and the same as the Toshiba mention above, as well as a paltry 1GB RAM; don't expect to go wild on the multitasking.
