Three new Asus Windows hybrid tablets revealed at CES are among the thinnest around

Asus has just kicked off its CES 2015 press conference in style, revealing three ultra-slim Windows tablet hybrids that have Apple's MacBook Air and the Microsoft Surface Pro firmly in their sights. The Transformer Book Chi T90, T100, and T300 are among the slimmest hybrid devices around, and are completely fanless for silent operation.

The flagship Chi T300 is clearly the highlight of the range, as Asus is calling it the "World's Thinnest 12.5in Detachable 2-in-1 Laptop". That's something of a mouthful, yes, but there's no denying it's a seriously sleek device. It might have originally made its debut at Computex last year, but it should finally go on sale in 2015 with an ultra-low voltage Intel Core M processor inside. It will also inclue either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD for storage.

It also has a 12.5in display, complete with 2,560x1,440 resolution panel that gives it the edge over the current MacBook Air. The detachable Bluetooth keyboard uses full-size keys, and the pair should last around eight hours of battery on a single charge. When docked, the pair is still slimmer than a MacBook Air, but detached the tablet is a mere 7.6mm thick.

The lesser T100 and T90 are equally thin, at 7.2 and 7.5mm respectively, although the specifications are significantly recuded from the T300. The 10.1in T100 and 7.9in T90 both use a 1.46GHz Intel Atom Z3775 processor, although the T100 has a Full HD display while the T90 makes do with a lowly 1,280x800 resolution All three machines run the full version of Windows 8.1, and include USB

Asus has confirmed the Chi range will launch later this year, with the entry-level T90 starting from $299, which works out at roughly £195 before Tax and VAT here in the UK. The Full HD T100 will set you back around $699 (roughly £460) and the T300 will start at $799 (roughly £530). We'll be taking a closer look at all three tablets as soon as CES opens officially tomorrow, so be sure to check back for our first impressions.
