Apple has already said its Apple Watch wearable will go on sale in early 2015, but a new report from 9to5Mac suggests it may be hitting shop shelves as soon as March, with a retail training program for the device beginning in mid-February.
Allegedly, sources close to the project have said that Apple store employees in the US will be sent to Apple's head offices in Cupertino, California or Austin, Texas to familiarise themselves with the company's smartwatch between the 9th-16th February.
Then, just before the Apple Watch is due to launch, these employees will then pass on their knowledge to their fellow colleagues in their respective stores. Of course, it's still possible there'll be some delays as Apple put the finishing touches to its Watch OS, but 9to5Mac claim that March is the current launch window.
The Apple Watch may not have a circular display like the Moto 360, LG G Watch R or the newly-announced Alcatel Watch, but it will still be the first smartwatch to come in two different sizes, making it more suitable for those with smaller wrists.
It comes in three distinct versions, too, arriving in standard stainless steel, tougher metal alloy for the Sport Collection model or 18 karat gold for the Apple Watch Edition. Each model will use different glass on the watch face, too, including sapphire crystal glass for the standard and Edition models and ion-X glass for the Sport watch.
So far, Apple's only announced pricing for the Sport model, which currently stands at $349, but 9to5Mac also suggests that the standard model will retail for around $500 while the 18 karat gold Edition version will probably cost thousands of dollars. 9to5Mac also leaked the new 12in Macbook Air this morning, which is an even thinner version of Apple's ultraportable laptop and supposedly only comes with a single USB Type-C port.
