Android Lollipop 5.0 has finally arrived on the HTC One M8 in Europe, HTC confirmed today. Jeff Gordan, HTC's senior global online communications manager tweeted this morning that One M8 owners should check their software updates today if they wanted to upgrade to Google's latest mobile operating system.
HTC originally said that the One M8 would receive the update within 90 days of receiving the Lollipop code from Google, so considering Google released Lollipop on the 4th November, today's announcement would be on right on track with its initial promise. HTC also said that the original One (now renamed the One M7) would also be updated to Lollipop within this 90-day period, but we've yet to hear any news on when it will be getting Lollipop as well.
HTC One (M8) owners in Europe, have a sweet tooth this morning? Check your software updates!

To update your phone, head to the Settings menu, tap About Phone followed by Software Updates and hit Check Now. The update is being rolled out in phases, so it may not be ready straight away. Be sure to keep checking throughout the day, though, as it should hit sometime very soon.
However, we've yet to receive other Android 5.0 Lollipop over-the-air updates from other phone manufacturers who have said they're also starting to roll out Lollipop across their handsets, so it may be possible that HTC's One M8 update may take a little while longer to appear. LG, for instance, said that all G3 handsets should have received Android 5.0 by the end of December, but our handset has yet to receive the update. Motorola and Sony have also pledged to bring Android 5.0 to its latest handsets, but we haven't seen any updates from them either. For all the latest information about when your phone will be getting Android 5.0, be sure to check our Lollipop release date news.
